Biology and Spirituality

Biology and Spirituality: Duality

Humanity’s inherent nature as a spiritual being is made difficult in the physical plane as represented by the body.

The call of spirituality is unity and oneness with all. That oneness comes with a dissolution of the ego or care for the self.

The ego is a  protection mechanism formed from the biological need to survive. It is a psychological protection of the identity of the self to survive.

To be truly spiritual, one must realize the identity of the soul as a unique spiritual consciousness that shares oneness with all things.

The ego and its desires must be transcended.

The ego creates rules of satisfying the different components of a person: the basest sexual desire, the need to feed on food, the need to feel important, and the need to be correct. It is only the need to be loved that stems from the need of the spirit.

This is because the spiritual realms is of love, just as God is love. The desire for love is the desire to return from our source and maker.

The reptilian brain is small and can be overpowered by the intellect and the desires of the soul.

In every instance, to truly love is to rebuke the need of the ego and basic physiology and to act in spirituality and love.
