Justice for the Poor

Psalm 9 1 To the chief musician, to die for the Son. A Psalm of David. I will give thanks, O YAHWEH, with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonderful acts; 2 I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will praise Your name, O Most High. 3 When my enemies turn back, they will fall and perish before You. 4 For You have maintained my right and my cause; You sat on the throne judging right. 5 You have rebuked the nations; You have destroyed the wicked; You have put out their name forever and ever. 6 The desolations of the enemy are ended forever; and You have uprooted the cities; their memory has perished with them. 7 But YAHWEH is seated forever; He has established His throne for judgment. 8 And He shall judge the world in righteousness; He shall judge the peoples in uprightness. 9 YAHWEH also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of distress. 10 And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, YAHWEH, have not forsaken those who seek You. 11 Sing praises to YAHWEH who dwells in Zion;3 declare His deeds among the nations. 12 For He remembers them, the seeker of bloodshed; He does not forget the cry of the afflicted. 13 Be gracious to me, O YAHWEH; see my affliction from the ones hating me, be lifting me up from the gates of death, 14 so that I may declare all Your praises in the gates of the daughter of Zion; I will rejoice in Your salvation (Y’shua*).4 15 The nations have sunk into the pit they made; their foot is taken in the net they hid. 16 YAHWEH has been known, He has executed judgment; the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. A meditation, Selah. 17 The wicked shall be turned to Sheol, all the nations forgetting Elohim. 18 For the needy shall not forever be forgotten; the hope of the poor shall not perish forever. 19 Arise, O YAHWEH! Do not let man have strength; let the nations be judged before Your face. 20 O YAHWEH, put fear in them; let the nations know they are but men. Selah. This is my next reading during Shabbat (Aug 15 2020) and I just find it fascinating how it reflects what happened recently. I asked permission to rebuke the rulers of the land for not taking care of our poor, and God gave permission to bring them down to Sheol (hell) when they die: those that do not enact justice for the poor. Psalm 10 1Why, Oh YHWH, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble? 2In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises. 3He boasts about the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles YHWH. 4In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for Elohim (God). 5His ways are always perverted; your laws are too high for his sight; he puffs at all his enemies. 6He says to himself, “Nothing will ever shake me.” From generation to generation, no one will ever do me harm.” 7His mouth is full of lies and cursing; trouble and evil are under his tongue. 8He lies in wait near the villages; from ambush he murders the innocent. His eyes watch in secret for his victims; 9like a lion in cover he lies in wait. He lies in wait to catch the helpless; he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net. 10His victims are crushed, they collapse; they fall under his strength. 11He says to himself, “God will never notice; he covers his face and never sees.” 12Arise, YHWH! Lift up your hand, O EL (GOD) Lift up your hand, Do not forget the helpless. 13Why does the wicked man revile Elohim (God)? Why does he say to himself, “He won’t call me to account”? 14But you, (God) see; you take note of mischief and vexation, and payback with your hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the orphan. 15Break the arm of the wicked and evil one; call the evildoer to account for his wickedness Until there is none. 16YAHWEH is King for ever and ever; the nations have perished from his land. 17YAHWEH, heard the desire of the afflicted; you fix their heart, and you hear, 18Judge the orphan and the hurt one. No more shall the man of the earth continue to terrify.

I just want to note the last line first, that God uses the word judge, not to just persecute, but rather, to also give justice to the oppressed. When the Bible talks of God's judgement, it is only pejorative for the wicked, but it is a balm and actual justice for the oppressed. For me this talks of 3 things: The judgement against the wicked actions of President Duterte and the stealing of millions against my people. The judgement of the man of the earth, or laman lupa, that was trying to scare my son the other day. Lastly, the judgement of my family who has not given justice to the poor and orphaned of the family. They say Peace, and speak kind words, but do not give what is due to them in justice. In all three respects, I have spoken, and I stand for the oppressed. The other one is me hungering for justice to be able to see my youngest son, Peace. I think it is YAHWEH alone who can bring them into account. For the last psalm I used the NIV but I replaced the names and certain phrases based on the Hebraic Roots version. This is a very literal translation that gives you an idea of how they actually spoke in these times. You can get a free copy here. Psalm 11 1 To the chief musician. A Psalm of David. I sought refuge in YAHWEH; how can you say to my soul, Flee like a bird to your hill. 2 For behold! The wicked will tread the bow; they fixed their arrow on the string, in order to shoot with it at the upright of heart in the dark. 3 When the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? 4 YAHWEH is in His holy sanctuary; YAHWEH, His throne is in the heavens; His eyes see; His eyelids will examine the sons of man. 5 YAHWEH tries the righteous, but His soul hates the wicked and the one loving violence. 6 He shall rain snares on the wicked; fire and brimstone and a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup. For YAHWEH is righteous; He loves righteous deeds; the upright look upon His face. This one, I don't know whom it is for. I guess in general, we will see who gets fire and brimstone and a scorching wind. (This could be volcanic activity here or what they will experience in the afterlife) But wait, that's not all.. (You'll see the difference of how the Hebraic Roots bible speaks here) 1 To the chief musician. Do not destroy. A Psalm of Asaph. A Song. We have given thanks to You, O Elohim; we have given thanks; for Your name is near; Your wonderful works have been told. 2 When I take the appointed time, I shall judge in uprightness. (See how this last verse switched to "I" will judge? It reflects what I did and am doing for my people) 3 The earth and all those living in it are melting away; I set firm its pillars. Selah. 4 I said to the boastful, Do not boast; and to the wicked, Do not lift up the horn. 5 Do not lift up your horn on high; do not speak with a stiff neck. 6 For exaltations are not from the east, nor from the west, nor from the desert; 7 but Elohim is the judge; He puts down this one and lifts up this other. (And ofcourse we recognize that Elohim, who sits in His throne in heaven is the ultimate judge) 8 For a cup is in the hand of YAHWEH; and the wine foams; it is fully mixed, and He pours out from it; surely all the wicked of the earth must drain its dregs and drink. (Rev 17:4) 9 But I will witness forever; I will sing praises to the Elohim of Jacob. 10 And I will cut off all the horns of the wicked; but the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up. This cup is for all the wicked of the Earth, probably an allusion to how much they drink as well. Zechariah 14 An angel is sent to Jerusalem, saying Jeusalem will dwell like unwalled villages and yet, 5 And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, and I will be for glory in her midst, declares YAHWEH 6 Woe! Woe! Flee then from the land of the north, says YAHWEH. For I have scattered you as the four winds of the heavens, declares YAHWEH. 7 Woe, O Zion! Escape, you who live with the daughter of Babylon5. 8 For so says YAHWEH of Hosts: He has sent Me after glory, to the nations who plundered you; for he who touches you touches the pupil of His eye. (Deut 32:10) 9 For, behold, I will shake My hand over them, and they shall be a prize for their servants. And you shall know that YAHWEH has sent Me. 10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion. For, lo, I come; and I will dwell among you, says YAHWEH.(Joel 3:17) 11 And many nations shall be joined to YAHWEH in that day, and they shall be My people. And I will dwell among you; and you shall know that YAHWEH of Hosts has sent Me to you. (Jer 24:7, Mic 4:2) 12 And YAHWEH shall possess Judah, His portion in the holy land, and He shall again choose Jerusalem. 13 Be silent all flesh before YAHWEH, For He is raised up out of His holy habitation.1 (Deut 26:15) This talks of the protection that YAHWEH gives to me, and I believe the daughter of Babylon is one who practices magic. Maybe the person who sent those evil spiritual things to my house is a practitioner of magic, and God has sent YAHWEH of HOSTS against those who plunder me, for those who touch me touches the pupil of his eye. They will be a prize for their servants, or will be given over to their servants. More than that, YAHWEH will dwell among us. *YAY And many people will join me, and be my people. We would go possess Judah, and choose Jerusalem. This can talk of the holy land, but also Judah, the chosen, which means Praise, and Jerusalem, the city of peace, which means me. From his throne in heaven, YAHWEH comes to live with me as well.

Thanks for continuing in this journey with me! Know that God will give justice to all the afflicted, first where I am, but later across the Earth. Yahweh is good. Be blessed!
