The Ascent

The Spiritual Ascent

The Spiritual Ascent can be described as the elevation of your body to its highest form or most unworldly form. As we know that our thoughts co-create our reality, and that our nature is spiritual, it is a unified desire that the perfect state of unity with our one God, is our natural desire. It is our collective goal, and consequently, we are all moving toward this reality.

In order to do this however, each person must cleanse themselves. As it says in 1 John 2: 15, Do not love the world, nor the things of the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For al that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the  boastful pride of life is not from the Father, but is from the world.

17 And the world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God abides forever”

This process is like a caterpillar escaping from its cocoon and emerging as a new creature in God.

The obstacles of worldliness can be divided into sexual desire, gustatory and monetary desire, heart issues, intellectual issues, and identity issues.

All of these are heart issues. Where your treasure is, there too, your heart shall be. Our aim is that our heart is of God. That is, that all our actions be directed in manifesting His Glory, and look pleasing in His sight.

However, these worldly desires skew the perspective. For these things, some are overcome. Their will is weakened against the temptation of worldly things. Desiring another sexually, wanting to eat good food, or wanting to secure ourselves a finaincial future, depending on another for emotional stability or desiring romance above other kinds of love, desiring to be right, powerful esteemed or important, and believing that there is only the physical state and no soul or no God are things that make us put our happiness in these things and trust in ourselves.

The moment God becomes secondary to your priority and motivation is sin. Sin is being lost. It creates the whirlwind of thoughts of confusion, fear, anxiety and anger. These worldly desires are passing and changing, and when they do change, one will find themselves at once lame and blind metaphorically.

To put your heart in God, is to desire Him first. It is to seek first the Kingdom of Heaven, and everything will be given besides.

Before desiring someone sexually, realize they too are inheritors of God’s glory, fully human and fully conscious of you as a brother or sister in spirit.

Before sating your appetite, make sure your brother has enough. Also, before lining your pockets, make sure your dealings are upright and noble, beneficial to all concerned and abiding by all the laws of the land.

Before you seek to give your heart to another person, or be enthralled with the presence of another, make sure that God the Father is central in your own heart, and the love for Him is greater than the love for any other. Also, love like God, where no partiality exists for color, or social status, intelligence, or age. Let all who are human be as dignified as God wants you to be. You may think that you yourself are not dignified or deserve to be dignified, that is why you judge others. Despite this negative belief, God loves you in full measure, while knowing the length and breadth of your iniquities, and the size of your arrogance, He seeks only to fill the depth of your hurt with His perfect love.

It is with this perfect love that we seek to love others. In the same light, the eventual destiny of true government is to create for each individual, equal opportunity, sufficient means, and a safe and loving environment in which He or she may serve the community in contentment.

The sin is a sin of the heart, of putting your faith in a worldly desire to fill your hurt, and make you happy. God is the only one who can fill you to the point of contentment. Many persons have achieved their dreams, only to find more dreams, or a futility that drove them to desperation. God satisfies.

Do not be fooled by the empty promises of worldly desire. You cannot eat enough or be so important to want for nothing. When you have God, your soul is complete, and you walk with the confidence of the God who divides the earth to make rivers, and spins the planets around.

This eternal power is an inner conviction that rings true in every step. It is the firebrand of faith achieved through loving God and believing in Christ’s place as the conduit and cause of our inheritance.

With this love, we ask anything and it shall be given to us. Yet, because your heart is enamored with the divine, your heart’s desires will be colored with goodness for all. Your selfish desires for self-importance in achieving a specific goal will take on a tone of service and gratitude. Your love for another will not be insecure or needing, but one that will be enriching and free of fear.

Love is fearless. Love is the anathema of fear.

Each person’s ascent can proceed differently, but as you gain more love and as your heart becomes devoted to God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit, your heart will be cleansed by the divine. Your actions will be guided to aid you in the furtherance of your soul’s journey.

You will exhibit the graces of God, known as the gifts of the spirit.

You will find exactly the right lessons to make your being closer to what God wants you to be. The effect of the ascent is to be Christ-like. The reward is true joy and happiness that is yet unknown in this world.

God speed, and happy journeys!

1 John 2:3 “Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.”
