Jeremiah 4 (KJV) ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ²³ I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. ²⁴ I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. ²⁵ I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. ²⁶ I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger. ²⁷ For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end. ²⁸ For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black: because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it. ²⁹ The whole city shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen; they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein. ³⁰ And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life. ³¹ For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers. This happened yesterday because I was wailing and crying because I could not have my baby, Peace. It is because of the father, and how miserable I am, powerless to get my baby. It is all because of the father of my child.
Perhaps also it is my past readings the last weeks where it said, Rachel was crying because her children are no more. I'd like to think not, I'd like to think there is hope. I know in the end, the Lord will give me back my children, and my baby.
I know everything is in God's hands. The more important part to this reading is the great destruction that comes along with it. the Earth mourning, the heavens are black, and everyone has fled the city. According to the bible, this is a tumultuous time that coincides with my sorrows. This might happen soon. Yet there is hope, in David in my next reading. The promises for David are passed on to Zion or the two annointed Jacob and Israel.
Here are David’s last words: “This is the speech of David the son of Yishai, the speech of the man who has been raised up, the one anointed by the God of Ya‘akov, the sweet singer of Isra’el. “The Spirit of Adonai spoke through me, his word was on my tongue. The God of Isra’el spoke; the Rock of Isra’el said to me, ‘A ruler over people must be upright, ruling in the fear of God; like the morning light at sunrise on a cloudless day that makes the grass on the earth sparkle after a rain.’“Because of this, my house stands firm with God — he made an everlasting covenant with me. It is in order, fully assured, that he will bring to full growth all my salvation and every desire.“But the ungodly are like thorn bushes to be pushed aside, every one of them. They cannot be taken in one’s hand; To touch them one uses pitchfork or spear-shaft, and then only to burn them where they lie.” God is calling me and the other chosen to leadership, and to guide people in this time of hardship. He assures his grace to these upright in heart, that God will give full growth to their salvation and every desire. Yet this blessing is only as good if and only if they do good, because the ungodly will just burn where they lie. Sh'mu'el Bet (2 Sa) 23:1-7 CJB Ofcourse to follow God is to be Godly, and the leader is called to uphold the laws of the land. Here they are as given from Horeb, the shining mountain by the desert of Sinai.
(My next random reading)
For ye, do not bow yourselves to another god — for Jehovah , whose name [is] Zealous, is a zealous God. a molten god thou dost not make to thyself.
‘The feast of unleavened things thou dost keep; seven days thou dost eat unleavened things, as I have commanded thee, at an appointed time, the month of Abib: for in the month of Abib thou didst come out from Egypt.
‘All opening a womb [are] Mine, and every firstling of thy cattle born a male, ox or sheep; and the firstling of an ass thou dost ransom with a lamb; and if thou dost not ransom, then thou hast beheaded it; every first-born of thy sons thou dost ransom, and they do not appear before Me empty.
‘Six days thou dost work, and on the seventh day thou dost rest; in ploughing-time and in harvest thou dost rest.
‘And a feast of weeks thou dost observe for thyself; first-fruits of wheat-harvest; and the feast of in-gathering, at the revolution of the year.
‘Three times in a year do all thy males appear before the Lord Jehovah , God of Israel; for I dispossess nations from before thee, and have enlarged thy border, and no man doth desire thy land in thy going up to appear before Jehovah thy God three times in a year. ‘Thou dost not slaughter with a fermented thing the blood of My sacrifice; and the sacrifice of the feast of the passover doth not remain till morning: the first of the first-fruits of the land thou dost bring into the house of Jehovah thy God; thou dost not boil a kid in its mother's milk.’ Exodus 34:14, 17-26 YLT1898 https://bible.com/bible/821/exo.34.14-26.YLT1898
So if you are wondering what about Jesus's laws that he established, loving God above all else and loving others as ourselves, yes we are still doing everything he says. Rather, we are remembering what we have forgotten in these 2000 years- that God is God, that Jesus came and suffered that we might be closer to the Father. Now, these are the signs and covenants that we know the Holy One of Israel is our God.
We need to remember the Father, who sitsbin heaven's throne and has two annointed on this earth. (
