Why is God so Cruel to My Brothers?

My 3 brothers died. One at 64, another at 43 and another a victim of Yolanda Typhoon.

Good morning! I was really touched by your question, and I know that it hurts to lose a loved one. Thanks for allowing me to answer your questions. I may not have all the answers, but what I do know, I would like to share with you.

I didn't know how to handle your question, so I asked God myself, and I got this response.

"The righteous person perishes, and nobody gives it a thought. Godly men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous person is taken away from the evil yet to come. Yes, those who live uprightly will have peace as they rest on their couches."

The way I see it is this, sometimes, Yah (God in Hebrew), takes good men from life to so they won't suffer anymore. It's hard to deal with the loss of good men, because they didn't do anything wrong, and most likely, being that they are good, they are easier to love. When you love someone very much, it hurts the most when you lose them.

When we lose someone, there are what they call stages of grieving: Denial, or not accepting that they're dead, Anger, or getting mad at Yah or someone who might have caused it. If you were near them at this time, it could be turned into guilt because you think that it was somehow your fault, but it is not! It is not your fault when someone dies because Yah is the one who gives and takes away life. Some people also result to bargaining, which is "Sana ako nalang.." or what if I was there, what if I did something else, maybe he would still be alive.. We can give many reasons to think that he might have survived, or could have survived. Many doctors are sued for this, but in reality, we come to the last stage of the process which is acceptance.

We accept because in the end, it is Yah who gives life and takes it away.

"I am the Lord, and there is no other.

7I form the light and create darkness,

I bring prosperity and create disaster;

I, the Lord, do all these things."

(isaiah 45:7)

He is the one who has planned and made all heaven and earth.

"You alone are the Lord. You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas and everything in them. You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship you."

(Nehemiah 9:6)

Yah is God, and if you really believe in God, you have to allow him to be God in your life. You have to trust and have faith that there is a reason for why your brothers died, even if you don't know it.

In fact, it is a testimony of your faith that you trust in Yah, that you know He has good plans for you.

Isaiah 45:9-13

“Woe to those who quarrel with their Maker,

those who are nothing but potsherds

among the potsherds on the ground.

Does the clay say to the potter,

‘What are you making?’

Does your work say,

‘The potter has no hands’?

10Woe to the one who says to a father,

‘What have you begotten?’

or to a mother,

‘What have you brought to birth?’

11“This is what the Lord says—

the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker:

Concerning things to come,

do you question me about my children,

or give me orders about the work of my hands?

Ang sinasabi niya dito, Kawawa ang sasagot-sagot sa Panginoon. Siya ay manlililok at tayo ay mga banga niya. Sinasabi niya na dapat bang tanungin ng banga sa manlililok, "anong ginagawa mo?" parang dapat ba tanungin ng sanggol sa nanay, "Hoy, anong ginagawa mo sa akin? Ganito nalang gawin mo.." Ang pagkamatay naman ay nangyayari sa lahat ng tao. Kaya kung kinuha na sila ni Lord, wala ka rin namang magagawa. Ang magagawa lang natin ay manalig at manatili sa landas ng kabutihan, para tayo rin ay mamuhay nang matiwasay at mapayapa habang nabubuhay.

If you are good and upright, while you are alive, you can be peaceful and worry free. You should be. Yah has allowed you one more day to live, to love, to laugh to learn and to leave your mark in the world!

Alam ko na masakit talaga na tatlo sila na nawala na, ngunit sa lahat ng pangyayari, may taglay tayong lakas para tanggapin ang anuman ng may kasamang pananalig. Pananalig na ang Diyos ay mabait at may plano, at tayo ay nasa loob ng kanyang proteksyon. Ang kalungkutan ay mapapawi sa paggawa ng mabuti at pag-iisip ng masasayang bagay. Binigyan na tayo ng Diyos ng lahat ng kailangan natin para maging kampeon ng kabutihan sa mahirap and magulong mundong ito. Manalig ka lang. Ang lakas ng Diyos ay nasa loob mo, kahit noon pa. Kahit ang kamatayan ay isa lang habkbang para patuloy natin siyang maramdaman, sa tamis ng pagsasama kasama ang ating mga minamahal. (Gaya ni Moses at Aaron na sumama sa kanilang pamilya nang sila'y namatay)

Alam ko parang minsan, parang walang malasakit ang Diyos para sa atin kasi nagdaranas tayo ng hirap, pero yun ay kasinungalingan ng kalaban. Ang totoo ay binigyan na tayo ng Diyos ng lahat ng kailangan natin para makalahok at manalo sa buhay. Kaya nating maging masaya pagkatapos ng pighati.

Jeremiah 31:33

33"But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days," declares the LORD, "I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34"They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them," declares the LORD, "for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more."

So let your faith strengthen you. Manalig ka sa kabutihan ng Panginoon, na siyang nagbibigay sayo ng lakas para maging masaya. Gumawa ka pa rin ng mabuti, para lagi kang mabuhay ng mapayapa, at balang araw ay makakasama mo rin ang lahat ng mahal mo sa buhay! Bago noon, ang Diyos mismo ang kasa-kasama mo sa bawat sandali para maging sandalan sa hirap at gabay panghabang-buhay!

In all your pain, just look inside, and you will know that God is with you always. He is with the broken hearted and those in pain, and with the righteous.
